After more than a decade of traveling across the United States and abroad, our founder, Michael Pitts, became aware of the vast gaps that exist between the wellbeing of populations. In one city there would be a campaign for better food management – to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle; and the next week he would be somewhere that was suffering from a lack of resources. And it didn’t stop with food – water, education, energy, homes – all taken for granted in one place and desperately needed in another. Everyone’s concerns were legitimate and necessary for their people, but the disparity between the needs seemed inept. He came starkly aware that some people are only limited by the place they were born.
SOME PEOPLE ARE ONLY LIMITED BY THE PLACE THEY WERE BORN
It was around that time that he recalled the writings of John, “…and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nation. No longer will there be any curse.” (Revelation 22:2-3 NIV). Those words fueled the belief that is the foundation of
our organization, that lasting change comes through partnership. Our founder knew, in that moment, good things happen when good people partner together. Michael Pitts and Cornerstone Church began to increase their awareness and reach into issues of injustice – reaching locally, nationally and globally under the banner of Heal The World.
In 2012 a book was released to raise awareness of the many issues that exist in the world today. In September 2014 Heal The World was registered as its own 501(c)3 organization and the start of 2015 saw Phil and Meredith Ryburn, and Matt Rasor placed as the directors. With a vision to see injustice fought in all places they began strategically working to harness partnership of like minded people everywhere. It is our firm belief that when we partner together, we will see an end to injustices, restoration come and healing will abound.
